Island Korcula- the island of Marco Polo and rich cultural heritage

Come to know Korčula - the historical and tourist centre of the island of the same name in the South Dalmatian Archipelago. Known as the birth-place of Marko Polo, this town has been justly called "a little Dubrovnik" due to its picturesque squares and medieval atmosphere. While the works of skilful Korčula stone-masons cause wonder by its perseverance, Moreška brings liveliness to the streets of Korčula, as one of the three chivalrous dances you can see only on this exceedingly beautiful island!
The island of Kocula has the largest number of residents of all Croatian islands and it is favorite tourist destination. This jewel of the Adriatic is full of the bays and small islands, pine wood and olive groves, medicinal herbs and flowers. On the island of Korcula is also birth town of Marco Polo. One of the particularities of Korcula is famous old dance called Moreska which is being played in July in the memory of Turkish attacks on Korcula. If you come on this island of rich tradition, different cultural heritage and beautiful sandy and pebble beaches we are sure that you will never forget your holidays in Croatia!
